![]() A planning application to convert the old betting shop building into 3 flats on two storeys has been submitted, with no parking provision and a target decision date of 10 July. (The application details, plans etc can be viewed by visiting Bromley Council website: http://searchapplications.bromley.gov.uk/onlineapplications/ and entering 11/03536/FULL1) There is some local concern because of the increased pressure on parking, with the removal of the area between No.52 and the kebab shop, which is currently used for parking. The flint cottages have largely no parking provision and only one storey extensions, in line with the outhouses. The proposed plans appear to be in keeping with the existing terrace, from the front, but the rear extension would also be two storeys. The 'Neighbour consultation expiry date' is 19 June. 2 parking surveys have been carried out BUT between midnight and 5am, so they do not take into account the pressures on parking during the daytime, when additional vehicles come into Green Street Green for work and shopping etc. Although the flat development is intended to encourage more use of public transport or cycling by providing no parking, there is no guarantee that purchasers will not have cars. Comments can be made online, by selecting the 'Make a public comment' tab on the application page. If a ward councillor refers the application or enough objections are made (Croydon requires about 12 objections, so Bromley is probably similar - this will be investigated and updated information posted), the application will go to the committee, rather than be decided, under delegated powers, by the Director of Planning. So, concerned residents may contact the ward councillors by email: Julian Grainger email Samaris Huntington-Thresher email Russell Jackson email
